Most charter companies offer direct flights from the UK and Ireland and Iberia and Spanair offer daily connections to Lanzarote from Madrid. Once in Lanzarote Playa Famara is a 30 minute drive from Lanzarote airport. We strongly recommend hiring a car if you are staying in Famara as the local shops are limited. It is also worth renting a car to see the rest of the island.

Transfers If you decide not to hire a car a taxi from the airport will cost about 35 Euros one way. Canal Travel can arrange to have a taxi waiting at the airport for you, but it does cost slightly more than waiting in the queue and hopping in a taxi.
