Playa Famara beach is home to a handful of local kitesurfers. The waves can be demanding (sideshore wind conditions). The beach is clearly marked and zoned for kiteboarding and you should adhere to these zones. Local experts do not recommend anyone under IKO level 3 going out on their own.

The best time to visit Playa Famara if you are planning to kitesurf is from May to September.
